Time Table Generator Project Computer Science Essay
Time Table Generator Project Computer Science Essay It is very important for the developer to measure/define a degree of success of the project. It is done to ensure projects boundaries, constrains, scope other elements. Qualitative evaluation must be done rather than a quantitative evaluation. The qualitative criteria like whether the system being developed fulfilled the entire primary component and in accordance to the software requirement specification and even is it able to solve the problems that stated at the beginning of the documentation. All the functional and non functional requirement must be met to ensure that objective have been achieved. In other word, we can say that it is just like comparing between what we had done and what we had proposed to do. Although some of the features can not be implemented as mentioned in PSF because of time and resource constraints. Previously developer was unknown about the solution of the proposed problems but slowly able to cope up with the problems. System is successful in providing mos t of the solution of the problems. For this system the main criteria for the user to ensure its success are: Fulfilling all objectives and user requirements All the objectives and uses requirements must be fulfilled for successful project development. Functionality analyzing and implementing functionality of the desired system to be developed. Usability Elements such as Learn ability, familiarity and recoverability will be evaluated here. Level of Content Detailed and well presented information and content available in the system is shown. Project Management -Following the Gantt chart and managing the project in a professional manner throughout the project development from beginning to end within proper time resource. Research and Analysis Research is very important for a good system. Documentation The documentation should be able to come up with proper formatting and according to the requirement specification. 8.1.1 Fulfilling all objectives and user requirements Evaluation Achieved User is able to able to remember all the daily activities tasks Yes User is able to set the proper constraints based upon faculty load Yes User can easily view his/her time-table of the day Yes User can successfully add, delete and modify the feature of Faculty Yes User can easily view his/her load matrix of the day Yes User can manually edit the time-table generated Yes The design is according to the user specification Yes User can apply the various principles and practices of Software engineering Yes FUNCTIONALITY Evaluation Achieved Most of the functionality can be reached from the main page Yes Report of the generated Time-table Yes Ability to measure the load accurately Yes Addition and deletion of the faculty information and the subject information Yes Constraints based upon the admin choice Yes Can copy the same schedule to other day Yes USABILITY Evaluation Achieved Having a good and interactive interface Yes Allowing user to navigate anywhere anytime Yes Allowing user to recover from error Yes Allowing user to send update the information Yes Allowing the user to modify the password Yes Allowing user for manual editing yes Level of Content It is a measure to indicate the level of depth in which the contents in the application is implemented. Developer has taken proper care to provide the in-depth level of the system. The user must understand the functionality of the system because until and unless he will not understand the system it will be a tedious task for him to operate a system. Setting right constraints will avoid the user to getting into a warning message. Correct evaluation of the load matrix will reduce the tension of the faculty. Project Management For the successful project development project management is necessary. For proper project management it is very important for the developer to manage proper time resource throughout the project. At the very initial stages of planning analysis the Gantt chart was prepared with the proper slack time. The milestone was putted so to as a measure of check on the project development. To manage the things, the developer followed PMBOK methodology of project management for planning this project. One of the major drawbacks in the project management is the time taken in defining the constraints of the system for which the time-table is to be generated. When integration testing was taking place, many problems started to arise and some of the problems took longer than expected. As a result, the developer falls short of time. One of the major drawbacks in the project management is the time taken in implementing the algorithm for producing the time-table. RESEARCH ANALYSIS For the successful development of the project, devoting time on research and analysis is essential. Evaluation Achieved Questionnaire Yes Analysis of questionnaire Yes Research on .NET architecture Yes Research on Algorithms Yes Research on Database Yes Research on programming languages Yes Research on development tool Yes Risk analysis Yes SRS Yes Research on UML. Yes Research on adopted methodology Yes Above is a table showing the list of research and analysis field which have been achieved during the development of the project. DOCUMENTATION Proper documentation is one of the major criteria judging the system. System documentation is necessary to explain about the system. The developer has tried its best to document most of the things. Each chapter defined here is easily understood as the language used is very much simple clear for any kind of audience. The format of whole documentation has been according to the standards of APIIT documentation. That includes the 3 major sections having several chapters in each. All the referenced materials are properly citied and their resources are also noted down in the bibliography page, and these are all done in standard Howard referencing style. For any existing spelling or grammar mistakes the documentation has been checked thoroughly. Specific information are also been converted into table format which provide better and easy reading. 8.2 Benefit of the System for the Targeted User There are lots of advantages of the system for the targeted audience:- Time Saving as now users can generate the time table automatically in no time. The time-table generated can be published directly from the form itself. Complete records for the faculty and the subject information can be easily maintained. The load and performance matrix can be easily calculated. Every faculty can see their time-table and whole time-table after login. Effective time-table will lead to the optimized use of resources. It will increase the efficiency of the staff and the personal dealing with the preparation of timetables. Easy to create different views of the created timetable. i.e., faculty view and student view. Saves the development time. The intangible benefits are as under: Productivity: Soft constraints include the choice of the lecture timing by lecturers will improve the productivity if implemented. But only admin can put the soft constraints. Timesaving: it takes many days effort to create a suitable time-table manually but with the help of this software it can be created within few minutes depending on the familiarity with environment of the software. LEARNING EXPERIENCE The success of project heavily depends on the knowledge gain by the developer that will help him in future to make good project efficiently and effectively. The processes were frustrating at times with obstacles and difficulties faced along the way. Many things were learnt throughout each and every stage of the project, simple things like proper time management, and also the importance of primary research. The other learning outcomes from this project are: Following are some of the knowledge gained by the developer which are. Time management and proper scheduling Ability to research extensively. Use of technologies to write better application About better project management About basics various aspects of time table creation. Using designing tool About Genetic Algorithm and other search techniques About programming skills in VB .NET Proper Analytical skills. Ability to model the prototype using UML Proper adoption of methodology according to project selection. Effective testing strategies. Limitations As always Limitations are with everything whatever the work it may be. These limitations arise due to many factors such as lack of knowledge of the developer, time limitaions or the system limitations. The developed application has the limitation related to the application that is created and they are listed as follows: The various limitations imposed within the System are: It will run only on Windows platform. The user can only provide input to the Computer by selecting the appropriate option as per choice. The user can perform only one operation at a time. The user can perform only limited task that are developed in the application. User can not view the logs of the recent work. The user can not regenerate the same schedule. The interface can be made much more interactive. It cannot be used online because it is a stand alone application. There can be difference between design and implementation. Developer took some features as challenge and mentioned it he might not implement. FUTURE ENHANCEMENT After research and analysis the developer found most of the things that were needed to implement in the system to make it more effective. The developer has realized that some more features can be added in the proposed system to make it better if more time is given on project. Below is the list of future enhancements that could/would be carried out by the developer The scheduling can be done based on the experience of lecturer. i.e., Final year student should not get any lectures from the inexperienced faculty or the new faculty. The subjects can be allocated based upon the difficulty level. i.e., the programming language can be set to the first half of the period. As the students can grasp the things most easily in the first half of the lectures. The constraints can be made more flexible. i.e., there will be faculty of modifying the constraints as per the choice of the faculty also. Online Edition: The software can be made online so that all students faculty can view time table from any where in spite of viewing from notice board only. Make the application work on various platforms apart from Microsoft platform. Search facility can be provided to search on the basis of the available faculty while manual editing. If given second chance for Developments If the developer was provided with a second chance to make the system then the developer would definitely plan the development of the system in a better way than it was currently done. The changes that the developer would bring into the System are as follows: Conduct more efficient data gathering sessions. More and more better utilization of features of the .Net. Add up more features in the current application Would have performed testing in a better manner Would have done implementation in more effective manner. CONCLUSION The developer has concluded that the project Time Table Generator is completed successfully. All the features stated in the PSF are implemented and working properly. Apart from the consolidated report of time-table as it was special feature. Most of the things were new for the developer to code. Since the developer has built such a big application in .NET first time yet the developer has successfully implemented the features. The developer has gained very good knowledge in VB.NET that will help him a lot in industry. Most of the expected feature that the developer expected could not be able to implement because of time and knowledge constraints. So, by the help of critical evaluation and reflection of the system, the developer is able to judge its system in an appropriate manner. The proposed system has successfully targeted some of the needs and problems faced by individuals in the domain.

The Three Faces of Eve Psychology Analysis
The Three Faces of Eve Psychology Analysis The Three Faces of Eve, the 1957-true-based Hollywood film, deals with the case based on a true womans mental illness and her treatment as well. In the film, she is presented as Eve White, who is a shy wife and mother, just a common woman of the era. This woman is subject to severe headaches and blackouts, thats why she is sent to see Dr. Luther, a personality psychiatrist. During a conversation with his patient a new personality, Eve Black emerges, at this stage Eve White self is unaware of Eve Black, but Eve Black knows everything about Eve White. Eve Black had an extroverted, insinuating and liberal personality, she liked to smoke, dance and date men, she was single. After Eve Black becomes the dominate personality, Eve Whites husband abandons her and their daughter. After that Eve White is hospitalized after Eve Black tried to kill Eve Whites daughter. After that, Dr. Luther considered that both selfs personalities are inadequate, through hypnosis he attempts to get a traumatic event in Eves childhood, this is when he finds out that, when she was six, her grandmother died and every relative was supposed to kiss the dead body, as a way of making it easier to let go. According to the film, that was the reason she split into several personalities. During a hypnosis session, a third personality arrives, Jane, who was more stable. This personality eventually merges the other two into a single one, becoming a normal person again. Later she marries again and reunites with her daughter. During the film, some persuasive fact was that Dr. Luther asked for some other doctors opinion for the case, given the situation of not having previous studies available nor the necessary reference information at that time. The film reveals different methods to convey messages such as Dramatic, for example, the way in which the switch from one personality to another was made, understanding this was a way for the audience to know that this was happening, the acting and the sound. Another method was Humorous, an example is a way they presented Eve Black and how she behaved in the film, sometimes when she appeared, the background music was insinuating, and another one was when Eve Black tried to dance with her doctor. The last method was Factual when she was taken as a subject of studies and also when they showed all the symptoms Eve had, such as headaches, hearing voices, amnesia, and blackouts. Humor was used as a way of establishing the difference between one personality and another, thereby, the audience could perceive clearly the difference between the different personalities the character had. Some techniques are used to set the mood /give insight into the characters mood state, for example, sometimes Eve White cried as an evidence of sadness and worries when she was talking to Dr. Luther. The film also showed an Eve Black always happy when she danced with the music. Eve Black, by lying in bed, she showed she was also mad because she was tired of being in the mental hospital. She cried when her husband yields at her. The movie used music combination to show saddens. This film reveals a mental illness called Dissociative Personality Disorder (DPD), in which a person could adopt up to 100 new identities. Each self or identity, simultaneously coexisting with each other. One hundred alters is considered extreme, but cases around 15 is an average. In some cases, the identities can be complete and they have their own physical gestures, the tone of voice. The transition from one personality into another, it is called a switch. Even though the switch is usually quick, it may be exaggerated in movies, just like happened in this case. As in the real-life case of DPD, just like from which this film was based upon, rarely manifest so few personalities, actually, the woman who inspired this movie, in fact, said that she had twenty-six different personalities inside her psyche. Others documented cases run into dozens of personality manifestations. The portrayals of this mental illness in this film could be considered positive somehow because in the 50s there was not enough information about this mental illness. As a start, the way to present the symptoms, the complete personalities, could be considered somewhat right but not accurate. The portrayal showed that and early-childhood trauma was the cause for this woman to have DPD, but people with dissociative identity disorder tend to have histories of recurring life-threatening traumas such as physical or sexual abuse before age of nine, and the cause may also be extreme emotional abuse or neglect. So, in this case, the abusive husbands treatment could have been the reason too. Ã Ã Work cited page David Schuette (2016, November 22). The New Deal And Reagan :: essays research papers
à à à à à The New Deal provided motivation for governmental action for fifty years. The material conditions of the nation could be cast into the frame of the New Deal and would motivate public action to address them. The way that they were addressed was framed by the New Deal's notion that the dispossessed of society were dispossessed because of the irresponsible actions of those at the top of the American economy. Government would become their representative in addressing the failures of capitalist leadership to protect the common man and woman. Franklin D. Roosevelt instituted the New Deal, which consisted of the Workers Progress Administration, and Social Security among several other programs. At the time, conservative critics charged it was bringing a form of socialism into the capitalistic American system. Conservatives sustained this argument until the 1980's when President Reagan actions brought conservative economic beliefs into fruition. Ronald Reagan was to succee d in defusing the political power of the New Deal motive. In doing so, he managed the public/private line, moving many concerns back to being private concerns that the New Deal form had seen as public matters. Reagan was to accomplish this by substituting another motive that replaced the faith of Roosevelt with the faith of Reagan. à à à à à One of the programs, which the New Deal instituted, was the Workers Progress Administration. The stated purpose of the Workers Progress Administration was to provide useful work for millions of victims of the Great Depression and thus to preserve their skills and self-respect. The economy would in turn be stimulated by the increased purchasing power of the newly employed, whose wages under the program ranged from $15 to $90 per month. Although this administration lasted only 8 years it gave the understanding that a middle class American society would have to commence, for the economy to operate. à à à à à The assistance, which was given to workers during the New Deal, was to be eroded by the Reagan administration. Reagan's economic policies towards middle to lower class workers recognized the economic imbalance of American society as a problem, which could not be solved by so called subordination of the American taxpayer. The implication of this was that the government would not subsidize, using taxpayer money, administrations and programs that were similar to those of the New Deal. One can derive this conclusion by looking at Reagan's policy towards cutting unemployment insurance and his hesitation towards raising the minimum wage.

Yanomamo: People of the Rainforest Essay -- Culture Essays Venezuela E
Yanomamo: People of the Rainforest Located in the Amazon Basin of Southern Venezuela and Northern Brazil, the Yanomamo are an indigenous group numbering close to 23,000. They utilize slash and burn horticulture, hunting and gathering to survive within their ecosystem. Napoleon Chagnon termed the group, ââ¬Å"fierce peopleâ⬠, citing their numerous disputes within non-allied villages. Aside from their periodic warfare, they have managed to build and sustain their unique culture through adaptations to their environment for generations. Family Organization Yanomamo families may live together as simply nuclear, polygnous, or extended (Ramos 1995, 188). Each house may have somewhere between one to six family compartments (Ramos 1995, 36). Alcida Rita Ramos explains that the nuclear family is very often so entangled in the web of kinship that, in order to define it, it is necessary to go through relatives who are primary neither to the husband nor to the wife (1995, 188). She states, "the wife may be the mother of a mans children, the daughter of his mothers brother, and the daughter of his fathers sister" (1995, 188). Frank A Salamone further explains the confusing kinship system they maintain by explaining that children of siblings of the opposite sex on both mothers and fathers side is the preferred marriage termed "bilateral cross-cousin marriage" (1997, 40). Apparently, another explanation for the difficulty in defining direct and indirect kin among the Yanomamo is in part due to their use of Teknonymy (Salamone 1997, 42). Ramos expl ains that Teknonymy does not allow for the use of personal names, meaning individuals are referred to, for example, as 'daughter of Suli' or 'husband of Suli' (1995, 188). In families, men do outran... ...mbridge University Press, 1985. Moore, Randy et. al. Botany; Second Edition. New York: McGraw Hill, 1998. Ramos, Alcida Rita. Self managed teams
A self-managed team is a group of employees that's responsible and accountable for all or most aspects of producing a product or delivering a service. Self-managing work team effectiveness Is defined as both high performance and employee quality of work life Traditional organizational structures assign tasks to employees depending on their specialist skills or the functional department within which they work. To get work done, many companies organize employees into self-managing teams that are basically left to run themselves with some guidance from an external leader. At Digital, Ayr, management had to learn to step back and let the groups reach their own declslons and In so doing time taken to actually management the organization was Increased. Although a lot of consideration was given to the transltlon it contributed to the success of the approach. Self-managed teams have greater ownership of the tasks they perform and the end product or service they deliver. Self-managed teams ten d to be less costly and more productive than employees working within a traditional hierarchical structure because the team performs both technical and management tasks.Team members may also flll In for each other to cover holidays and absences. Decisions made by self-managed teams are more effective because they're made by the people who know most about the job. A sector in Trinidad and Tobago where self-managed teams can be seen quite often is in the Public Service. Employees in various departments' namely human resources and finance are generally self-managed teams. Employees generally plan and schedule the workflow and manage annual leave and absence, in addition to minor technical tasks.Management and technical responslbllltles are typically rotated among the eam members as career advancement In the clerical stream usually allows for this. Although these teams may be seen as a cohesive self-managed team where there is a sense of trust and respect between team members, in the pu blic service you find overly cohesive teams which leads to ââ¬Å"groupthinkâ⬠: You usually find team members most if the times conforming with team norms than raise issues that may upset other team members. This leads to reduced effort or stifled innovation.Teams may struggle to make the transition from supervisor-led management to self-management, either ue to lack of Interpersonal skills or poor Implementation of the self-managed team concept within the service. The concept of using groups of cross-functional employees in modern business in the form of a team has been around in the United States for quite some time now. Self-directed teams have been used in Great Britain and Sweden since the 1950's. What both regions have realised or learnt is that particular attention must be placed on development of the teams. Development Is an Important component of self-management.That Includes tralnlng In decision- aking, problem solving, communication and team-building. Team-building e fforts and programs, which take time, energy, and patience, are an essential component of a successful self-managed team. As it relates to how they manage and carry out their tasks self-managed teams are autonomous, although they still require guidance from leaders within the organizational hierarchy. The essential challenge for any team Is to balance empowerment with accountablllty. It must report to that hierarchy Important to note is that using a self-managed team is no solution, nor should it be mbraced as a belief.
Media corruption â⬠other side of the coin Essay
ââ¬ËWhoever controls the media, controls the mindâ⬠In todayââ¬â¢s world, the media has become a necessity just like food, clothing, and shelter. The media was ideally designed to be impartial and unbiased ââ¬â to provide information, news, and knowledge that is objective and socially constructive. Unfortunately, in recent times, because of its money making approach the media has adopted a biased approach that is benefitting politicians and the corporate leaders. Sadly, the media is known to be resorting to ââ¬Å"Paid Newsâ⬠ââ¬â news that is published or broadcasted to benefit a certain class of people who have huge economic power and who wield that economic power to buy ââ¬Å"The Newsâ⬠in their favor. The viewerââ¬â¢s/readers of such ââ¬Å"Paid Newsâ⬠are at such a loss with this information that lacks integrity and they can be easily misled. Actually the readers/viewers are deceived in to believing ââ¬Å"Paid Newsâ⬠which is indeed misrepresentation of the truth.. Article 19 of the Constitution of India ââ¬Å"Reach to the publicâ⬠ââ¬â states the right to freedom of speech and expression to media .When this freedom is misused by the media, it becomes a prime reason for media corruption, and more or less the willingness of Indian Govt. to eradicate this problem. The objective of this paper is to highlight the roots and remedies of media-corruption in India and to create awareness about the general public about the distortion of news/information by the media ââ¬â to enable viewers to discern, and not be uninformed consumers of the news. Key words: necessary, money making approach, freedom.
